What ages do you teach?

For guitar and piano, 6 years old and up.  5 and younger require an audition to see if they have developed the enough hand/finger movement.

As for the other instruments, you will need to contact the teacher.

Where do we meet?

We meet at the private studio located at 835 Tower Dr Suite 15, Odessa TX 79761.  A Welcome Packet should be emailed to you prior to your first lesson that will include a map to the studio.

What are your qualifications?

Please visit the bios underneath each section to see each teacher’s specific qualifications.  However, all teachers either have their degrees in music, or currently working towards their musical degrees.

What kind of musical styles do you teach?

All students start with the classical technique, since this is the building block of all styles.  Then, the students will focus on one or more styles depending on their goals.

Do I need to have an instrument to start/ how do I know what kind of instrument to buy?

You do not need a instrument for your first lesson, but you will need one ASAP.  If you do not know which one to purchase, wait until you meet with your teacher so they can help you choose one within your budget.

What time do we meet?

When you contact 12 Keys, your teacher will discuss times for your lessons.

How long is your contract?

We are on a month to month agreement (contract is too harsh of a word), but there is not a set time limit. We feel that if we are doing a good job and you are learning and having fun, then you will want to continue taking lessons.

How do I sign up for a group lesson?

You can contact us and I will put you on a waiting list.  However, the easiest way is for a group of parents or students to contact us, and we can work out the details from there.

Have your students been successful?

Every students goals are different, so success is a matter of personal opinion.  However, 12 Keys have had students go on to be in local bands, a few have won or placed in musical competitions.

Have long does it take before I sound good?

We get this question a lot.  First off, what does “good” mean?  Are you comparing  yourself to someone who has spent thousand of hours practicing their instrument?  Remember, the reason why you are in private lessons is so that you can learn at your speed.  This means that the more you play at home, the faster we move in here.
